August 28th, 2008: The talented Andrea Heins sent me a song she wrote inspired by one of my earlier comics, about declaring parts of your life non-canon. The song is called "Non Canon" and I listened to it with a big grin on my face, especially with lines like "I will declare your lack of passion for me: non-canon." Sup Stellarfags! After an epic Skype Convo with Cyp, I think I've figured out how to make a conference call (As in have other peeps join in). It will prolly be more productive than a AIM session, as folks can voice thier opinions than having to write everything down. The only problem with this is time zones. Like, it was Midnight for me, but 8:00 PM for Cyp. Here's a handy dandy time zone map to help out. So please, if you want to join the Stellarchat, please let me know your Skype name (so i can invite you into the conference) and what timezone you live in. If you don't have Skype, it's a free program to download. lol. So please, LEMME KNOW WHAT TIME IS GOOD FOR YOU GUYS. Sluggy and Ruck both live in the time time zone as me, so we will all three be on at the same time (if Sluggy can buy a mic in time XD )

SO HEY the VGA fanremake of QFG2 is out! What timing. :O I am intrigued by this, but also in a way part of what I liked about QFG2 was the typing and the oldschool graphics and stuff, but I'm still totally going to check it out when I get the chance.
I do hope it doesn't suffer the same problem as the King's Quest III remake where Alexander was given the ugliest portrait known to man.

Also uploaded three more MGS4 vids, but to protect those avoiding spoilers, I won't mention anything specific about them, except all three are pretty early on (Acts 1 and 2). But you can see them here of course.

There are, of course, two versions, like the other Sierra series. I will be honest with you guys - I never beat the EGA version. In fact, I barely got anywhere in it. Me and Alix are so used to the VGA version that the EGA version feels insanely difficult in comparison. :O BUT. I will provide both, in case you want them.
I REALLY RECOMMEND PLAYING QUEST FOR GLORY YOURSELF. Primarily because there are THREE different paths through it, and I can only do one. YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THE OTHER TWO YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM.
But anyway - Quest for Glory VGA an amazing six and a half megs.

BUT ENOUGH OF THAT, LET'S GIVE IT A WHIRL! Each game in QFG has a kind of "aesthetic" to it. WHAT DOES THIS GAME HAVE? CAN YOU TELL?

There's a lot of talking in this installment, but it's the kind of setting up for the world that's typical with this sort of thing. MUST TALK TO EVERYONE. As things go on the pace will pick up, but I love everything about this game to begin with so I could listen to everyone talk about everything all day.

Been busy lately searching for and filling out job applications. It's frustrating now. I know exactly what I want, but the positions are few. I'm more determined than ever, though. WORK BY SEPTEMBER YES It'll be weird soon, seeing people go to school and knowing that part of my life is over (at least until I decide about grad school). For 21 years, school was always in the picture and now it's just . . . not.

I also decided I need to get smart about LJ. My teen entries were great for lulz (man did i have questions for everything back then), but now I have to think about prospective employers and background checks and stuff. Heck, the first thing they do is look online to see if college students have a myspace. :P Sure, I go by a moniker online, but who knows. So I deleted the old stuff and kept everything from when I turned 21: all the stuff that reflects who I am and the way I think now.

I'm reminded of the "secret" undergraduate thesis scandal from last year (the JS coordinator had FWDed an e-mail about it to the students in my major), when people held Hillary to her words that she'd written as an undergraduate probably about my age: 20-21. I found that a bit silly. Even scholars change their views over time based on new information they learn. When I wrote my thesis paper, I saw instances of that firsthand. Anyway, the last quote in the article is truth.

I moved in Sunday to find that our room is the most bitchin room on the planet. It's like 3 of my last dorm room smushed together. We have a room for Ruck/Meg, a sorta storage room, and then 'The Troll Dungeon' (which is my room). My reasoning for getting the room is that I don't ever sleep hardly, and last year I would accidently wake up the roomies late at night gaming and stuff. So I have my own dungeon where I can stay up to nearly 3 AM playing online Zombie Survival. It's kinda weird having your own room though, so they stick the vaccum and others things in here so I don't feel so undeserving. Lol.

It was mad awesome to see the faggots again, and I managed to see Chibi and Mont again getting my books. And oh yeah, total for books this year? 178$. Awesomeeeeeee. I managed to snag my books used and horribly beat down, so I got them really cheap. But i just KNOW i'm going to have to buy a shitload of paint. So that joy may be negated.

Hehehe Sunday I had a 5 hour phone convo with Adamska, which was epic and full of lulz. Ballgag wearing gimp zombies, horrible sprite recolors on Sheezy, and Metal Gear were just some of the ~~faggotry~~ epic discussed. One thing I learned? Never list your gender on Skype. I kept getting random IM's from people asking 'If I Liked getting Tied up' and 'if i'm looking for a studly man'. TOO BAD I ALLREADY HAVE A MAN.

Yeah. I freaking miss that Nerd Boy sooooooo muchhhhhh. Hopefully we can try out hosting a server and runnning around in GMod for a bit. It's just not Sluggy I miss. I miss the dog, I miss home minus dad, and I being at college makes me mss Konk even more.

tonight's cappery contains a distinct lack of tim curry, which was a letdown. if any part of the game has felt like myst so far, this was it. oh well, i did get to die by octopus and meet a disembodied talking hand!

some of the screencaps in here got REALLY dark, and there was NOTHING i could do. i couldn't see the screen myself, let alone really clean it up. lightening it seemed to just make it...light grey. :B just...you'll know when it gets there. CAUSE GOSH MAZES UNDERGROUND SURE ARE FUN.

Today my dog tried to sabotage my packing efforts.

She isn’t stupid, she knows I’m leaving for school so she made a huge brat of herself all day. She would jump into my suitcases and refuse to budge. Roll around on my freshly laundered clothes. She even resorted to grabbing items and making me chase her to retrieve them. Once everything was done and packed into the car, she sulked the rest of the day. No amount of petting/belly rubs would cheer her up.

Good lord I’m going to miss my dog so much. I wish I could take her with me. Even now she’s hiding under the computer desk staring back at me with the most pathetic look on her face ever.

I think I’ll cheer myself up by watching some SciFi channel B movies. :<.

Inhuman update!

a couple new names joined my livejournal friends list this week - just fyi, i draw a scifi comic. it updates on saturdays, and i post about the update here.
